I began my career as a clinical social worker, spending over two decades in a variety of settings, including a leading LGBTQ+ health center and in my own private practice, with individuals, couples, and families. I also provided supervision, training and consultation to other therapists.

In 1999 I joined the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston (JCRC) where I eventually became Deputy Director. JCRC is an organization representing the interests of Boston’s diverse organized Jewish community and engaging them in the public arena.

My work focused largely on community organizing in an interfaith context and developing and mentoring generations of young professionals, many of whom have gone on to lead their own organizations.

Throughout my career, I’ve been most energized by the opportunity to help mid-career professional women in mission-driven organizations, identify their passions and talents and clarify their sense of purpose. My keen understanding of interpersonal dynamics, along with my knowledge of relational community organizing, has enabled me to coach professionals to analyze and navigate complex terrain.

I firmly believe that vulnerability and authentic openness to change is possible only when trust is established. So my style is to challenge and agitate in the service of achieving set goals, while always prioritizing the respect and dignity of every client.

Along with my professional experience, the most rigorous preparation I’ve had for coaching women is my experience raising two highly principled, assertive, and accomplished daughters, both of whom work in the field of Special Education. They teach, agitate, inspire and challenge me daily!

I have been fortunate to have Nommi as an executive board member for over 6 years of my career. She has fostered my leadership development, and with her guidance, I became a better coach by providing valuable feedback to staff. She is a skilled sounding board, in navigating difficult situations. She is exceptional at confirming if you are on the right track and honest if she sees any adjustments needed.

Executive Director, Local broad-based interfaith organization

In my twelve years of being coached by Nommi, our meetings were, for me, an essential and invaluable course in work and life.  Nahma approaches everything with thorough and disciplined insight, creative and expansive problem-solving,  and with encouragement to take actions which uplift and honor people in dignity.

Founder and Executive Director of a local volunteer service organization

As a coach, Nommi has always had a superpower for articulating my own strengths and areas for growth in ways that I may not always be able to on my own. Over many years of guidance and mentorship, this has been a real gift and continues to help me better understand my own foundational skill set and purpose.

Nommi is wise, warm, an incredible listener, a creative strategist, and the absolute best person to have in your corner in virtually all circumstances but especially when you are trying to navigate complex situations. She coaches with compassion, she is politically savvy, and she is desperately funny to boot.

With her deep listening skills, warmth, thoughtful questions, and incredibly wise insights and ideas, I  came away more confident and armed with ideas and plans that have been essential to my thriving in this new field.
