I began my career as a clinical social worker, spending over two decades in a variety of settings, including a leading LGBTQ+ health center and in my own private practice, with individuals, couples, and families. I also provided supervision, training and consultation to other therapists.
In 1999 I joined the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston (JCRC) where I eventually became Deputy Director. JCRC is an organization representing the interests of Boston’s diverse organized Jewish community and engaging them in the public arena.
My work focused largely on community organizing in an interfaith context and developing and mentoring generations of young professionals, many of whom have gone on to lead their own organizations.
Throughout my career, I’ve been most energized by the opportunity to help mid-career professional women in mission-driven organizations, identify their passions and talents and clarify their sense of purpose. My keen understanding of interpersonal dynamics, along with my knowledge of relational community organizing, has enabled me to coach professionals to analyze and navigate complex terrain.
I firmly believe that vulnerability and authentic openness to change is possible only when trust is established. So my style is to challenge and agitate in the service of achieving set goals, while always prioritizing the respect and dignity of every client.
Along with my professional experience, the most rigorous preparation I’ve had for coaching women is my experience raising two highly principled, assertive, and accomplished daughters, both of whom work in the field of Special Education. They teach, agitate, inspire and challenge me daily!
